1. Q. How Long Will The Concealed Carry Course Take?
A. In short all day. The state mandates a MINIMUM of 8 hours which consists of 6 Hours in the classroom and 2 Hours on the range. Our class not only meets the minimum but exceeds it and here is why. Carrying a firearm is a HUGE responsibility and there are many things that you may think are legal but will quickly land you in jail.
 
So we cover the following in our concealed carry courses:

  • Ammunition Info (how it works, how to select it and why we practice with one type and carry another)

  • Defensive Shooting Issues (IT IS NOT HOLLYWOOD and we will teach you want to expect)

    • Proper Grip

    • Shooting Stance

    • How To Use Your Sights (Both Iron Sights & Red Dot Pistols)

    • Proper Breathing

    • How To Press The Trigger Properly To Ensure Your Shot Placement

    • Follow Through Of The Fundamentals

  • Range Safety

  • Important Points About Pistol Maintenance

  • Legal Considerations

    • How To Recognize A Threat

    • When To Use Your Firearm & When Not To

    • What Else Can You Carry That Gives You Another Option

    • What To Say To 911, The Police, Your Family / Friends After An Encounter

    • Duty To Notify & The No Carry Zones

So with breaks, student questions, the drive to the range plan on about 9 – 9.5 Hours.

2. Q. Is The Range In The Same Location As The Classroom?
A. No, we use First Strike Indoor Range in Newbury for our concealed carry courses. It is about 30 – 35 minutes from our Twinsburg location.
 
3. Q. I Have Not Purchased A Firearm Yet And Would Like To Try Some Different Options, Do You Have That Available?
A. Yes we have several options available from HK, Sig Sauer, Glock, Walther & Smith & Wesson. We do not charge for the use of the gun only ammo reimbursement.
 
4. Q. I Have Never Shot Before, Should I Start With The Concealed Carry Course Or A More Basic Course?
A. For brand new shooters we suggest our Intro To Firearms Course first. This help you learn the proper mechanics for shooting a pistol using either laser ammo or laser pistols. I know it probably sounds crazy but it works exceptionally well for new and experienced shooters alike.
 
5. Q. I Have A Felony On My Record, Can I Take Your Class?
A. The quick and simple answer is no. If you can not purchase a firearm in the State of Ohio you can not take this class.
 
6. Q. I Have A Misdemeanor Drug Charge On My Record, Can I Get My Concealed Handgun License In Ohio?
A. No, contact an attorney and work to get it expunged.

9. Q. I Can’t Find Ammo For My Gun, Do You Have Any?
A. Yes we keep a stock of 9mm and .22LR on hand
